Greetings! Welcome to the wonderful world of Nancy's ppats Edition 6. If you like the ‘flavor’ of these ppats, you can also obtain Editions 1-4 (packaged together in the info-mac archives) and Edition 5. A 7th is not far behind. Each edition contains two dozen ppats in a ResEdit file.
They can be installed with the following programs listed below. (Thanks to everyone who sent me email to tell me which programs are successful.)

† If you’d like to know how, email me! (Credit goes to Bob Andrews for emailing me
directions on exactly how import ppats into Wallpaper. Thanks, Bob.)
†† I’ve tried to make sure that all 144 of my ppats have names (what a pain!), but an
honest responseware user (thanks so much, Dave!) has informed me that ppat #133 in
Edition 4 was overlooked. Sorry about that. Name it whatever you want if your
program requires names.
The ppats, which are 64 x 64 pixels, were created with a 256 color palette. All of the patterns look good in 256 grays, and most are okay in 16 grays/colors. (One user uses them on his 16 gray monitor PowerBook. Glad to hear it, Simon!) 4 grays/colors is pushing it, but a few are passable. I really recommend they be viewed as they were created, with 256 colors, to enjoy them the most.
These ppats are FREE!!! Feel at liberty to pass them on, but I ask that you include the Read Me (Please!) file, and leave the names of the files intact. (Do whatcha like with your own personal copy.) These ppats may not be sold. They may be included on CD-ROM archives if I am notified first.
I've made an effort to make them tasteful and pleasing to the eye, and people have picked up on this. Editions 1-5 have been well received. One user labeled them 'classy.' (Thanks, Kathy!) Several users use them at work. The textures are helping a diligent Toronto, Canada, student complete his Environmental Studies Master’s thesis. (It’ll save the world, Gordon, just wait ‘n see!) Yet another post graduate studying Animation/Interactive Multimedia in Melbourne, Australia, hopes they’ll come in handy to tile onto his renderings. (Hope it works, Mark!) Also, Steve Budrys (steeeve@aol.com) has released a cool, true-to-Vegas-style video poker game (shareware, with commercial potential) called Deuces Wild. You might find some of my textures in the background of future releases of the game. (Good luck, Steve!) An accomplished After Dark™ module writer, of 'Stained Glass' and others fame, would like to teach me the beauty (or was that the ugliness, Jean?) of going commercial. The ppats been deposited in the Mac Utilities Forum on AOL, and will also be in future editions of AMUG’s BBS in a Box.
If you like them, or even if you don't, I'd appreciate some feedback via postcard or email. If you take the time to send mail, I'll take the time to reply. Please tell me where you’re from. I'm interested in seeing how far they travel. Also if it’s not already on the list above, tell me with what program you've installed them so that I might pass your information on to others in updated ReadMe files. Thanks and enjoy!
